Spring Valley is a nature refuge of 135 acres of fields, forests, marshes and streams nestled in the heart of Schaumburg, Illinois. It features over three miles of handicapped-accessible hiking trails, a museum with natural history displays and information, and an 1880s living history farm.  My wife, Judette, and I love to hike the trails of Spring Valley often when the weather is accommodating.   For me, Spring Valley is a photographer’s paradise with an ever changing landscape and extensive variety of subject just waiting to be captured by the camera’s lens.

The albums below contain photos that I took at Spring Valley since April, 2009, with a Canon EOS 5 Mark II camera.   I used five different Canon lenses:  20-35mm 1:3-5-4.5; 28-70mm 1:2.8; 100mm 1:2.8 macro; 70-200mm 1:2.8; 100-400mm 1:4.5-5.6.  All photo editing and processing was performed on an iMac using Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Apple Aperture 2.
